This is my first blog post but will not be my last. Here I will do my best to keep you up-to-date on what is coming up and what is going on in my life. Please, remember that while I run this business, I am one person! I have great support from my family but I am the one who runs everything for #krystalbath.
Who We Are
My name is Krystal Jarvis. I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, raised in Pennsylvania, and now live in Arkansas. I am 37 years old, am married, and have two children.
This is my son, Jack. He comes up with some of my design ideas and scent combinations! He is 10 years old and is also my main tester!
This is my daughter, Emmaleigh. She helps with anything that I need. She washes equipment, helps come up with color combinations, and is the one who goes with me to events! Emmaleigh is 13 years old and is my right hand in this business, plus she came up with a design for a new product line.
This is my husband and me. We have been together since December 2005. We've been through so much together and have grown as people, while raising our family. We also have a DJ business, Alpha 1 Entertainment (#alpha1entertainmentdj), that we opened in 2012.
JR helps keep me sane, organized, and fed! As I write this, he is cleaning and repainting my workspace so that I can have a fresh start this year! He is my other half, my balance, and the reason I can create for you!
We bought our home in July 2011 and have been updating and renovating it ever since then. She's an old home and needs many updates but we love her. Just this past year, we replaced the cook-top, oven, fireplace, HVAC system, fencing, gas lines, plumbing, and some roofing. I believe she will always be a work in progress, but we love her!
Design Your Own
I really love when you contact me about designing something special for you! If you have something specific in mind, please let me know exactly what you're thinking. Let me know colors, fragrances, shimmer or no shimmer, plus anything else that you may have in mind. If you want to leave it up to me, I will create something just for you based off of how I see you and what I believe you will love!
Up until this point, I have left this feature up throughout the year, except when we are closed. This year, I will be only leaving this feature up for the first two weeks of every month!
Turnaround Time
This last year was crazy and turnaround time became a bit longer than anticipated, up to 2 weeks. This year I will have a release every two weeks (or twice a month) and these items will be ready to ship! That means that if you order things that I already have made, you will receive a tracking number within 2 business days. If you order Design Your Own products, it will be a week before you receive shipping confirmation and a tracking number so please keep that in mind!
Shipping
This year, we will have a new printer (which cuts down on process for labeling) and will be using standard boxes plus Shippo for shipping. My shipping labels will be the printout sticker kind as well. This process will save time and be able to get better shipping rates for everyone. This first month will be a learning process and I will be tweaking costs as we go along so please bare with me!
